Hello! I'm Amy, a Public Health Communications Professional based in Washington, DC.

Current Role

Communications Associate

Employer: Burness

Dates Employed: March 2022 – Present

Location: Bethesda, Maryland, United States

About Me

I joined Burness in March 2022. In this role, I primarily work on a variety of projects with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on issues related to health equity, healthy children and families, and research and evaluation.

Since earning my Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a certificate in injury and violence prevention from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in May 2019, I've become increasingly interested in the important role that communications can play in improving public health outcomes.

Prior to joining Burness, I worked as a project coordinator at the CDC-funded University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center on a variety of opioid overdose prevention and violence prevention projects, and as a communications specialist for Michigan CEAL (Community Engagement Alliance), an NIH-funded initiative to reduce COVID-19-related health inequities among medically underserved communities of color.

Outside of work, I love to water ski and am actively involved in the American Water Ski Association.
